New Years Resolutions Include “Quit Smoking Tobacco Cigarettes”

Posted by admin_addiction on December 26th, 2011

If you are among the many people across the globe trying to quit smoking cigarettes, you aren’t alone.

However, this year there is finally an alternative for you in an “electronic form.”  While electronic cigarettes may now have the clinical backing – YET – to say they are a safe alternative to tobacco cigarettes, many people like ourselves are finding that electronic cigarettes provide a great satisfaction to the action of smoking, while leaving us without many of the nasty traits that tobacco cigarettes contain.

New Years Resolutions Quit SmokingNew Years resolutions are plenty.  “Quit smoking.”  “Drink less alcohol.”  “Lose weight.”  “Live healthier.”  “Quit doing drugs.”  The list can go on much longer for many people.

Only two short years ago, we compiled an internal list of New Years Resolutions that we were looking to actually keep up.  Out of our small group of contributors to this website, all of us listed “stop smoking tobacco cigarettes” as the top resolution.  For this reason, we’ve grown this website into much more than a website talking about addictions, in fact, we’ve compiled one of the most comprehensive databases of electronic cigarette reviews.

Smoking cigarettes is a nasty habit. The overwhelming majority of people in this world agree with that statement.  If they don’t, they live a rather unhealthy life and probably have a low IQ.  The second hand smoke that lingers around and gets in the way of the clean, unpolluted air is filthy, counter-productive, and downright unbearable for many.  It can affect generations of children and families, in the process reducing the lung capacity and polluting the brains of everyone in it’s way.

The cigarette butts leave behind a reminder of what took place.  Fingers leave a long lasting smell of nicotine, ash, and tar.  The smell gets in our clothing, our wallpaper, and other items in it’s place.  The reminders are plenty, the ill effects, over-bearing and deadly.

Electronic cigarettes are rapidly replacing tobacco cigarettes in many households.  While health claims aren’t substantiated for the most part, the obvious is obvious:  electronic cigarettes do not leave behind any traces of waste, smell, or garbage.

When is the last time you had people over for drinks and you didn’t have to empty out an ash tray somewhere on your property?  When is the last time your children didn’t have to encounter numerous cigarette butts while they frolic through the yard?  When is the last time you didn’t have to “air out” your place from the lingering smoke?

Odds are, if you have people in your inner circle who drink, you have people in your inner circle who smoke.  Getting rid of the nasty after-effects that come with them is not easy, and asking them to switch habits – even more difficult.

Enter electronic cigarettes, an item that is much more practical than it is accessory.

Just take a look at some of the pro’s of electronic cigarettes:

*No ash.

*No lingering odor.

*No tar.

*No flame, no fire, no combustion.

If everyone used electronic cigarettes, the world would have much less waste.  With electronic cigarettes, you simply use a battery and screw in a cartridge of your choice, flavor, and strength level.  You use this cartridge until it’s finished, which is usually in the range of 200 – 350 puffs.  At this point, you replace it with another one.  You don’t have to worry about burning yourself with e cigarettes, because the device that heats up relies on an atomizer which is heated when you inhale. This way there isn’t a single spark or flame, meaning that there is no risk of fire or other hazard.

If you know someone who wants to stop smoking tobacco cigarettes, give them a serious suggestion:  tell them to take a look into electronic cigarettes.

We banded together to provide a site that talks about many addictions, including nicotine addiction.  While electronic cigarettes do contain nicotine in most instances, there are nicotine cartridges in “zero” strength levels, which essentially means you are just smoking water vapor at that point.  That’s essentially the goal of many people who use electronic cigarettes, to switch to a cartridge that doesn’t contain nicotine.  But, if you must get your nicotine fix, there are plenty of options out there, from 24 mg (almost like an unfiltered cigarette) all the way down to a 6 mg (in line with an ultra light cigarette).  There are also flavor options in many different tobacco blends all the way to fruity flavors like cherry, grape, and of course, everything in between.  Of course, menthol is offered and the industry continues to release new and off-the-wall flavors as well as numerous accessories that help electronic cigarette smokers keep their batteries charged and their vapor levels high.

With New Years Resolutions having SO many people trying to quit smoking, it’s no surprise that electronic cigarettes have never been a more in-demand item.

That said, what is everyone’s New Years Resolutions for 2012?
